Sesame crusted ahi tuna |
We have a bunch of things going on that are just kind of hard right now, but this blog isn't about all those things, it is about food, so I'll tell you what I did today.
I waited for the seventeen minutes I am alone during the day when both children happen to briefly nap at the same time (yes, moms of two or more are so rarely alone). I took a beautiful piece of fresh tuna from Whole Foods. And I rolled it around in black and regular sesame seeds. And I pan seared it just til it was just cooked on the outside. And I mixed up some sriacha, mayo, lime juice and cilantro for a dipping sauce. And I ate it standing up at the kitchen counter (there is no time for seated meals).
And it felt so healthy and good and now I'm ready to get back to my (now awake) children and the rest of the day.

YUM! One of my favorite things of all time to make at home. I get so excited driving home when I know I have an ahi tuna waiting in the fridge for me :)
I've never bought sriracha before since the munchkin won't eat it. But I may need to add that to my ahi dipping sauce.
